About RRC

The Renmark Rowing Club came into existence on November 28th, 1919, boasting an initial membership of 40 enthusiastic individuals. Since its inception, the club has remained a hub for those seeking the pleasures of rowing on the river. While the boats and equipment may have evolved over the years, the joy and camaraderie associated with this time-honoured pastime continue to resonate with today’s rowers, echoing the sentiments of those early pioneers who first embraced the sport. At the heart of the Renmark Rowing Club lies a rich tapestry of experiences that weaves comradery, joy, and exhilaration into every stroke taken on the mighty Murray River. Rowing with us isn’t just a sport; it’s an embodiment of fun and excitement coupled with the tiring yet rewarding challenge of the physical and technical aspects of the discipline. As rowers dip their oars into the tranquil waters of the River Murray, the banter between the crew keeps spirits high, especially when it comes to the precision of the rhythmic coordination of a stroke, under the guidance of the ever-watchful cox. Each rigger, blade, and oar plays a crucial role, and every seat and slide carry the mark of sweat and dedication. Along the riverbanks, the gum trees and the Black Stump bear witness to our relentless pursuit of excellence. The meandering path of the Murray, and the serenity of the Renmark waters are our canvas, rowing our artistry that paint the memories that last a lifetime.
